what happens in a
typical preschool 🥺

1: 6 teacher to child ratio

On average 1:12 with often the second adult being a nanny instead of a teacher

learning environments for each child

6+ learning environments so your child is always engaged: Homeroom, play area, makers space, atelier, storytelling room, movement studio.

Typically children spend the majority of time in one classroom which becomes monotonous over time.

Parents are asked to pack food/ tiffin. Also nannies are not well trained to handle children.

parent school interactions

Daily activity updates on the app.

3 monthly PTMs that are detail oriented around all aspects of the child’s growth.
Regular parent check ins.

Lack of visibility on a daily basis.

6 monthly PTMs with generic feedback

pedagogy & quality of teaching

Bringing together strengths of global pedagogies from IB, Montessori, Reggio & Waldorf.

Classes are child centric with a balance between academics, curiosity, independence and other holistic skils.

Over emphasis on academic learning.

convenience for parents

Flexible Schedules: 9AM to 1PM or 9AM to 5PM for working parents.

Shorter summer & winter holidays so that working parents are not overwhelmed with managing children during long school holidays.

Schools either shut by 1-2pm or have very passive daycare programs in the second half.

Schools are shut for at least 3 months during the year forcing parents to look for camps and other activities to keep their child engaged.
